LED Lighting is a new technology that offers many benefits over traditional lighting. These benefits make LEDs a great value. An LED installation project typically pays for itself in less than three years.

LED Benefits:

High brightness, heavy-duty LEDs offer great light output and efficiency. Almost all Jarvis models are DLC Qualified and are eligible for most rebate programs.
Lower electricity consumption – up to 80% savings. This means significantly lower electricity bills.
Reduced maintenance – LED lights can last up to 100,000 hours with virtually no maintenance.
Brighter, cleaner light – LED lights give a pure light output. Colors are more visible under LED lights making sites more visible.
Better light spread – LED lights have a better light pattern than traditional lights. This means the light pattern is more even. A more uniform light pattern helps the human eye adjust and see more clearly.

How LED Works:

LED lights use a different technology than previous lighting technologies. Instead of using lamps and ballasts, they use light-emitting-diodes and drivers to create light. The light-emitting diodes are manufactured in a process that is similar to producing computer chips. Instead of processing information, they give off light. They require a power supply, called a driver, to regulate power going through the LEDs. LED power supplies are different than traditional ballasts. They control the current electronically. Because of this, they typically are multi-voltage. Drivers have a single pair of input wires that automatically adjust to the installation’s line voltage.
LED light fixtures often feature optics to control the light. This can be accomplished through lenses, reflectors, or a combination of the two. Both options have advantages for specific situations. Jarvis Lighting uses a combination of both, depending on the product’s intended application.
Are you ready to upgrade? Jarvis offers LED solutions for both outdoor lighting and indoor lighting, as well as controls to maximize your savings. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, reach out to a Jarvis Lighting representative for more information.
