LED Parking Lot Lights - Pole Mount Fixtures

Type III throws light forward in an asymmetric pattern — use it on perimeter poles where the parking area is on one side (roadways, lot edges, building-adjacent walkways). Type IV produces a semi-circular forward throw with wider lateral spread — use it for wide median-mounted configurations. Type V produces a circular, symmetrical pattern radiating equally in all directions — use it for center-of-lot poles where vehicles park on all sides, the most common parking lot configuration. The Jarvis JSAL-G2 offers multiple optic configurations within the same fixture family.

A 400W metal halide or HPS draws approximately 458W including ballast. The Jarvis JSAL-G2 at 200W provides comparable illumination at 56% less energy. Other conversions: 150W HPS (~190W system) → JSAL-G2 at 100W (47% reduction), 250W metal halide (~295W) → JSAL-G2 at 150W (49% reduction), 1000W metal halide (~1,100W) → JSAL-G2 at 300W (73% reduction). The JSAL-G2's selectable wattage allows field adjustment without replacing the fixture.

Pole spacing depends on mounting height, fixture wattage, and target foot-candle level. A general guideline: at 25-foot mounting height with a 200W LED area light, poles spaced 80–100 feet apart typically achieve 1.0–2.0 average foot-candles for parking lot applications. Tighter spacing (60–80 ft) is needed for higher security requirements. Jarvis Lighting provides free photometric layouts that calculate exact spacing for your site.

All Jarvis JSAL and JSAL-G2 series area lights use a standard 2-3/8 inch outside diameter (O.D.) round slip-fitter, which is the industry standard for commercial pole-mounted area fixtures. This is compatible with most existing pole infrastructure and all Jarvis-branded tenons, including round pole tenons, square pole tenons, wall mount brackets, and bullhorn multi-fixture arms. The JSAL-G2 quick-mount arm enables one-person installation — the arm secures to the pole first, then the luminaire hooks onto the bracket.

Yes. The JSAL-G2 series accepts an optional factory-installed PhotoMotion sensor that automatically adjusts light output based on motion detection and ambient light levels. The sensor is reprogrammable in the field using the Jarvis A315 remote. For networked control, the JSAL-G2 is JarvisLink-compatible with 0-10V dim-to-off and 12V auxiliary power for external control accessories.

Yes. All Jarvis JSAL and JSAL-G2 area lights are DLC-qualified under DesignLights Consortium V5.1 standards. DLC qualification is required by approximately 80% of U.S. utility rebate programs for outdoor commercial lighting. Typical rebates for DLC-qualified area lights range from $75 to $200 per fixture.
