FlexBeam™ is Jarvis Lighting's proprietary directional canopy light technology. Unlike standard recessed canopy fixtures with fixed downward optics, FlexBeam features a rotatable optic module that allows the beam angle and throw pattern to be adjusted after installation. This lets installers direct light precisely toward pump islands, driveways, or specific coverage zones without repositioning the fixture housing — solving the hot-spot and dark-zone problems common with fixed-optic canopy lights.

Yes. The Jarvis XBEAM canopy retrofit kit uses magnetic mounting brackets that attach directly to existing metal canopy frames. The kit wires into the existing junction box with no new conduit, cutouts, or structural modification. One electrician can install a retrofit kit in approximately 15–20 minutes per fixture position. For canopies with non-standard or damaged cutouts, the magnetic retrofit approach avoids frame modification entirely.

Recessed canopy lights mount flush within the canopy structure, requiring a cutout in the canopy panel. This provides a cleaner appearance and better protection from physical damage. Surface-mount canopy lights attach directly to the underside of any flat surface — no cutout required. Recessed is standard for fuel station forecourts, while surface mount is typical for building entries, parking structures, and canopies without standard grid cutouts.

Most utility rebate programs accept DLC Standard as the minimum qualification. However, DLC Premium products like the Jarvis FlexBeam™ series typically qualify for 25–50% higher per-fixture rebate amounts. For a gas station canopy with 20+ fixtures, the cumulative rebate difference between Standard and Premium can reach several thousand dollars. IESNA RP-33 recommends 20–50 foot-candles at grade level beneath petroleum station canopies, with higher levels (30–50 fc) at pump islands where transaction and safety visibility is critical. Perimeter and driveway zones can be lower (10–20 fc). Uniformity ratio should be 4:1 or better to minimize dark spots between fixtures.
